ClinicSpeak: Oliver Sacks

Oliver Sacks passes away; an inspiration to millions. #ClinicSpeak #MSBlog

“Some of you will have already read that Oliver Sacks, neurologist, writer and celebrity, passed away on Sunday, aged 82 from terminal cancer. His book ‘The man who mistook his wife for a hat’ (1985) inspired me to follow my passion for the brain and become a neurologist. By strange coincidence I am currently halfway through his autobiography. If you haven’t had the opportunity to read any of his books I would suggest starting with ‘The man who mistook his wife for a hat’.”

  1. When I had a relapse over 20 years ago, I told my GP that I felt trapped inside a body that doesn't work. He suggested I read The man who mistook his wife for a hat. Great book, well written and easy to read.
