CCSVI – Bad Science

If any one is interested in social phenomena that disconnect with the predominant scientific opinion of the time should also read “Bad Science” by Ben Goldacre; the book provides the social context to the CCSVI phenomenon we have been discussing on this blog. His discussion on anecdotal evidence and the placbo-effect are particularly well written.

  1. Re "Where is this article. I searched his site and there is nothing for CCSVI.": the book is not about CCSVI, but about the process of how society responds to new or not so new innovations. CCSVI is an example of how this process pans out in the field of MS. It is an interesting read! I would like to hear your thoughts about the book.

  2. TED Talk – Ben Goldacre: Battling bad sciencehttp://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/ben_goldacre_battling_bad_science.html15 minutes of fun – apologies if this has been linked to before.
